Oxbridge Application Timeline & Key Dates
For students aiming to join the esteemed ranks of Oxford or Cambridge, the application process requires meticulous planning and adherence to a strict timetable. We've summarised the key dates for the Oxbridge application cycle in the timeline below so you can remain well-prepared and informed.
📌 May 16 - UCAS Portal Opens
The application journey for Oxbridge begins with the opening of the UCAS portal on May 16. Initiate your application process by registering on the portal.
📌 September 29 - Admissions Test Registration Deadline
Certain courses at Oxford and Cambridge have associated admissions tests. Please check the university’s website for the full list of courses requiring admissions tests.
The general deadline for test registration is September 29. If you're considering law, take note of the specific LNAT registration deadline of September 15 as you will need to sit for the LNAT before your UCAS submission.
📌 October 15 - UCAS Submission Deadline
All application information, including your personal statement, should be submitted through the UCAS portal by October 15. (Note: Oct 15 unless the date falls on a weekend).
Tip: Students are advised to contact their school for the UCAS Buzzword and have their referee prepare an application reference at least 2 months before the application deadline.
📌 Mid-October - Start of Admissions Tests
Oxbridge admissions tests generally commence in mid-October. Ensure that you're aware of your specific test date by checking your registration details. For those taking the LNAT, ensure your test is completed before the application deadline (Oct 15).
📌 December - College Interviews
Shortlisted applicants will be invited for college interviews in December. Invites will be sent to you at least 1 week before your interview date.
For most overseas applicants, the interview will be done online. This is an opportunity to demonstrate your passion and suitability for your chosen course.
